You Know You’re a Foodie When….

4 12 2010

The other day I walked outside to head to my next class and took a deep breath of fresh air and then realized that it smelled like Indian Food…..

more specifically Chana masala

Pretty sure a non-foodie wouldn’t think of which specific indian food the air smells like. ย Then go look at all kinds of recipes how to make it…..or maybe it is just me….

You know you are a foodie when you are easily excited by making a simple trip to the grocery store, and spend an hour or so there just walking around, reading labels, etc.

or maybe it’s just me….again….

You know you’re a foodie when you would much rather watch foodnetwork all day, read food blogs, and dream up recipes rather than getting the rest of your work done or watch any other shower.

I’m trying to convince my parents that we need to get the game Funglish for family get-togethers!

Well, I can definitely relate to the grocery store one. Once I brought my friend to Whole Foods (her first time) and we spent about 1 1/2 hours there and it felt like 10 minutes. We were actually kind of stunned that so much time had gone by!

haha that happens to me ALL the time!!! I go in just to grab something “quick” and an hour-hour 1/2 later I’m still there! lol

you know i’m with you…you know you’re a foodie when you go to a grocery store in the middle of some of the greatest shopping in dallas. i’d much rather look at food than clothes!

hahaha omg i know!!! The only clothing store that might take my attention away from Whole Foods would be Lululemon, but I just think about all the food I could buy for the amount it would cost to buy one pair of pants!! lol

Yes! Totally with you! The only way anyone would have been able to get me out of the house on black Friday was if Whole Foods was having a half off sale.

OMG if Whole Foods had a half off sale, I would have gone NUTS!!! lol There is no way you would’ve gotten me out of the store b/c I would’ve been busy packing it all up in my shopping cart!

Oh yeah, I spent an hour and a half in WF the other day. Nooo problem!
And that chana masala just made me jealous.

You know you are a foodie when you take two small kids to the fancy (with all kinds of non-kid friendly breakable displays) grocery store during rush hour, just to buy red lentils and buckwheat.

I am so drooling over that food pic of the toffee/chocolate bars. Recipe?

the picture of the chocolate bars I found online….but it was from a bloggie I think, so I’ll find the website again and put the link up!

I had to laugh when I came across this one “You know youโ€™re a foodie when you would much rather watch foodnetwork all day, read food blogs, and dream up recipes rather than getting the rest of your work done or watch any other show.” This is definitely me.

i do the same thing on the rare occassions i get to Whole Foods.
my hubby and his brother went to Trader Joes the other day and got me some peanut flour. when he got back he said,
“man there are ALOT of food nerds there!” of course he meant that in an endearing way ๐Ÿ™‚

I always watch food network all day when I’m at my dad’s house (he has satellite, and I don’t)
I LOVE it.

I also watch it at the gym. Gives me something to work toward

Ooh I schedule good chunks of time to spend at the stores too. I look at products so much that people ask if I need help ๐Ÿ™‚

I guess that makes me a foodie! I used to have a few hours to kill before work, and I would wander around the grocery store across the way for hours, just looking at everything. Occasionally I would buy a squash and carry it into work with me… pretty sure my coworkers thought I was crazy ๐Ÿ™‚

I do the same thing! When I get bored or something I’ll just go wander around the local health food store looking at new products to research and read about ๐Ÿ™‚

I am such the stereotypical foodie! I love grocery trips, dream about recipes, obsess over the Food Network. Yup, we are one of a kind ๐Ÿ™‚
