2 06 2011

On my last post, I showed ya’ll my plan.

I have not started yet, this coming Monday will be Day 1 of THE PLAN, and I will fly from there!

This week I have been doing a lot of CrossFit inspired workouts with my bootcamps (6:30am on Tuesdays, and 5:30am on Fridays) and with myself as well.

Tuesday I did this workout:

5 Rounds:

-10 burpees

-20 box jumps

**its insane how many people do box jumps incorrectly at the gym!**

2 Major Keys to A Great box Jump:

-land softly

-full foot on the box

-30 push-ups

-40 squats

-50 lunges

This was H-A-R-D but left me feeling worked out but energized!  Loved it!

Bootcamp on Tuesday morning looked a little like this:

2 Rounds:

-1 min plank with side to side step

-1 min plank walkout with towel pull

-1 min ninja get-ups

Timed Round:

30 minutes to complete as many rounds as possible

-10 Scorpions (5 ea. side)

-20 V-push-ups

-30 body weight squats

-30 mountain climbers (both legs =1)

Countdown to finish:

start at 10 reps, then 9, then 8, then 7….etc all the way down to 1.

-lunge jumps (both legs =1)

-Full Sit Ups (with weight optional)

I am super excited about starting up Insanity again next week and then progressing to Insanity: The Asylum!

**I will be posting up a meal program soon that I am writing for my clients!**

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Question: Have you ever tried CrossFit?  What do you think about it?

The Plan

29 05 2011

Growing up I never used to plan for anything….I’d just have my parents do the planning for me or else I’d just do whatever I wanted to do whenever the time came to do it (were you able to follow that? :-p)

However, now, I plan EVERYTHING.

-Grocery list

-relaxation times

-family time (phone calls etc.)

-blogging (even though I don’t set aside too much time for this)

-training clients

-work at the non-profit (yep, still working for them!  Getting ready for our ITS TIME SCHOOL SUMMIT)

-pampering (not much of this goes on either)

-cleaning room/house

-watching shows (The Voice, The Biggest Loser (which is now over), and The Real World (guilty pleasure) ).

I have another plan now.  This time the plan comes with the purchased package and all I have to do is follow it. There are also 2 different phases of the plan.

I have already completed this challenge  before but now I’m going to do it again and then some.

I bet you are wishing you knew what I was talking about.

Here it is….

with the one and only Sean T

so easy on the eyes

I plan on starting off from day 1 with the meal plan that comes with the DVD’s and going through the full 2 month program.

The reason why I am starting here instead of jumping right into phase 2 of this plan is because recently I have not been doing as much cardio and intense interval workouts as I used to, so this will be a nice warm-up for what I’m about to endure.

Yes, believe it….Insanity now has a BIG brother and his name is The Asylum.

This is going to be super intense but totally worth it….I can already tell.  I am so excited about completing these 2 challenges and I will be planning for some work on the blog to coincide with this so ya’ll can see what my meals consist of, BEFORE and AFTER pictures (bikini season), and how I felt during it.

I cannot wait to get started with this!

Missing Him….

24 05 2011

I miss Arnie….

my crazy dog…or in my dad’s words “sorry excuse for canine flesh” (of course he is kidding)

He has this innate ability to do something so out of the ordinary that will turn any bad day into a good one

Sometimes I really see God through him….is that weird?

The simple fact that no matter what I do in my life or what I do Arnie will always love me with his WHOLE heart, care for me, protect me, and be the BEST dog in the world to me….kind of like how God is loves me regardless.

That ability to love unconditionally is what I strive for, and having faith that things will be ok….no matter what happens if I die tomorrow or live for another 90 years, I will end up in Heaven reunited with Heavenly Father.

So crazy that a 20lb dog can teach me such MASSIVE Life lessons 🙂

Do you have any pets?

If so, what do you learn from them?

Am I the only person who takes tiny things and turns it into some sort of life lesson or reminder?  I know Lindsay does, and I LOVE her “mushy” posts 🙂 Always is a great reminder for myself!

My First Time

18 05 2011

Ok, so here in Texas we only have 2 more hours left of Wednesday, but you catch my drift.

One thing I always try to tell my clients is that they HAVE to eat well in order to see the results they are wanting to get.  Then I get asked the question, “well, what do you eat?”….

Perfect Opening for my VERY FIRST WIAW

<a href="“>3:30am

bahahaha, another turd log 🙂 Recipe next post!

Check out these stats….if you can read it!

90 calories for the package, 3g fiber, 8g protein

and of course to go along side

And that’s all folks!

*Have you have any “first time’s” lately?

COMING UP: A Post on Metabolic Training

All Kinds of Shenanigans

10 05 2011

Happy Tuesday!

WARNING: This post is going to be all over the place.  So if you are looking to read something organized I would stop right here. 🙂

First and foremost I want to say HAPPY BELATED MOTHERS DAY to my amazing Mother!!  (I sent her a card and talked to her on the phone but did not dedicate a post solely to her on Mothers day because I was hardly by my computer on Sunday).

I love you mom and I couldn’t be more blessed than to have a wonderful woman in my life.  You have shown me how to be a lady, be compassionate, a teacher, a supporter, a friend, and most of all how to love.  I thank God everyday for you, showing Heather and I everything we needed to know about the real world, how to be faithful women, respectful and caring women.  Words cannot describe how much I love you and am thankful for everything that you have given me.  You are honestly the best 🙂 LOVE YOU MOMMY!!!

I have lately been getting into MMA and Boxing (no more marathon) and all kinds of super intense workouts.  Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I work in the fitness industry?  Or it may just be that I am constantly trying out new fun things!

I was doing a little research on what I want to do for my next workout (tomorrow) and found these two videos.  Pretty sure this is what I’ll be doing!

for my core

I’ll be doing each station for 1 minute, then moving on to the next.  There is a total of 18 stations.  This WILL be killer, no rest till the very very end.

When it comes to boxing, Muay Thai, and Jiu Jitsu the cardio training is by far the most intense thing I’ve ever done in my entire life.  I have played college Division 1 volleyball, trained for beach volleyball and trained for a marathon….that training looks like baby steps in comparison to this fighting training!

Today I did some Sparring (I think thats what it is called)….soooo hard!  My HR is definitely at its full MAX!

This is similar to what I did today:

IN-TENSE….but amazing!

I’m kind of weird, and starting to get into all kinds of different things.  My interests are going left and right.  I am now looking into possibly purchasing a motorcycle in the next year or so.  I will most likely get my license in the next 3 months or so

Kawasaki Ninja 650

As well as going skydiving in August with my cousin David (David, if you are reading this we need to sign up soon!)

I am also graduating from UNT on Friday with my Undergrad in Health Promotion!!  YAY, its about dang time I get out of school (only till I enroll for my masters at UT for Nutrition in the Spring 2012).

At the end of May I will be headed to Dallas with 3 other lovely ladies from 24-Hour to go to the Empower Fitness Celebration Conference!

Have a lovely rest of the week!  I most likely won’t be posting again till Saturday or Sunday!  🙂

What are some ways your spruce up and change your workouts?

Do you keep the same workout or do you try to mix it up and add variety in there constantly?

Making Time

6 05 2011

Happy Friday Everyone!

Man, (insert: BIG SIGH OF RELIEF here), I am so happy it is finally getting close to the weekend.  These past few weeks have been utterly insane for me.  The Nutrition Event that I managed was this past wednesday and boy am I glad to have that stress over with!  Now, hopefully I can make time for some of this:

and some of this

It feels so good to be able to make time for fun recreational things, and when I participate in the activity without thinking about what  I should be doing instead!

Last night was CINCO DE MAYO!!

Did you do anything to celebrate?

I did!  I went out to 6th street with some of my buddies/co-workers/family and just had a wonderful time!  I didn’t have a client till 11am so I was able to be out late but still be able to semi-catch up on sleep! 🙂

Here are a few pictures from one of the bars we went to!

It was super fun!! I don’t drink often or anything but I had a few drinks last night and felt so nice to be able to relax and just have a good time with my friends!  Health is all about finding the perfect balance for YOU, and what works for me is balancing all my goals and dreams along with family and friends, and finding time to just do things for myself.  I truly needed this night because now I feel a little more energized!  I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!
